Hervey Bay

*wink* *wink* typischer back flip, den weißen Bauch der Sonne entgegengestreckt

Am Freitag haben Ryan und ich spontan entschlossen das Wochenende in Hervey Bay (4 Stunden nördlich an Küste) zu verbringen zum whale watching.

War supi, bissl of Road Trip mit meinem little terrorist- haha-

5 Stunden draußen am Meer,

ein weiterer tick-off auf meiner things-I-want-to-see-in-my-life-list,

real seize whales in their natural territory right in front of me....terrific

Ich kann nicht genug Bilder vom Meer bekommen, verrückt, ich weiß, aber ich hab jedes Mal Freude daran :)

der Strand fast für uns alleine, schön ruhiges Wasser in dieser Bay. Ganz anders zu Surfers Paradise, wo wir sonst öfter sind

ein Baby Wal mit Mama...die Kiddies waren voll lustig, nicht ruhig zu halten, wie bei uns, ham sich ständing gewälzt und gewunken mit ihrer großen dorsal fin (typisch für die Buckelwale) und backflips etc...das Kalb war 1.5 Wochen alt und eine Tonne schwer und nimmt täglich 80 Kilo zu....reschbeggt =) no wonder, Muttermilch hat 40% Fett....das wär a lot of chocolate *neid*

und noch ein Gruß an Papa =)

Anna is

sooooooooooo happy, dass es endlich wieder warm...hm...bzw heiß wird =) Und das auch morgens und abends wieder richtig schön SONNNNNNE!

SUUUUMMMERRTIIIIMMME !!!!!!!!

hab zwei assignments due am Freitag und prac exam am Montag wieder, bissl stressig aber step by step und dann wühl ich schon im Sand von Beach in Surfers Paradise DENN.... hab Turnier am Samstag am BEAAAAAAAAAAACH, cant cant wait. Das bringt mich durch die Woche. Können schonmal Wetten abgeschlossen werde ob ich es ohne Sonnenbrand schaffe..ich hoffe doch. Anja spielt wahrscheinlich auch, voll cool, mal schaun wie sie die Wärme, ist ja erst spring, händelt.

JIPPPIIIIIIIEEEEHHHHH, jetzt muss ich meine 60 Tage Sonnenschein noch genießen bevor es nach Hause geht....60 Tage...ähm hallo??nur noch 9 Wochenenden, wie krass EY :)

What happened here?

Wie, was warum und überhaupt??? Die Anja aus Büchenbach mit der Anna aus Roth in Brisbane? Zusammen?? Now?...............JAAAAAAAAA, Anja kam vor ca 2 Wochen hier im Sunshine State Queensland an und studiert ein Semester an der Bond Uni an der Gold Coast....How cool is thaaaaaat? AWESOOOMMEE!!!

Un ddann musste ich sie doch gleich mal mit Brisbane's nightlife bekannt machen. Here still standing, vor den shots... Die ganze introduction war ziemlich erfolgreich, um 5 Uhr sind wir nach Hause gekommen, Sonne ist aufgegangen...Am nächsten Morgen war nciht mehr so viel von "still standing" zu sehen :) Anja war bissl hungover, mir gings wieder gut wie immer LOL keen plan wie ich das mache aber praktisch isses. Um eins haben wir es endlich aus dem Haus geschafft....

Pommes aufm Burger?? Das ist Jad, ein anderer waiter. Er ist auch n Sportsfreak bissl, so sehen wir uns oft in der gym, sauna, gehen bald Tennis spielen, spielen Klavier zusammen auf dem Flügel in der Bar nebenan....ziemlich cooler bloke!

me and Soozi, auch ein Mädel aus der Arbeit. Sind mittlerweilen so ne coole Crew, macht voll Spass in die Arbeit zu gehen, machen viel zusammen, social activities oder aber auch einfach nach der Arbeit die City unsicher machen. Love it, best company ever!!!! Ich hab schon soo viele rewards bekommen...zum Geburthstag bekommt man kompletter 3 course dinner for two umsonst, dann MUSS man mal ne Nacht im Hotel schlafen um zu sehen was man präsentiert und schön room service bestellen um im Restaurant dinen, Kinotickets weil wir so gut gearbeitet haben wie es mal wirklich busy war, ich hab neulich Flasche Wein bekommen weil ich länger geblieben bin bis um halb zwei, nach jeder shift bekommen wir nen knock off drink, so habe ich mein Regal daheim mit smirnoff blacks aufgefüllt :) kostenlose Massagen, health tests, Impfungen, Kurse zur Weiterbildung, soziale Events wie z.B. Bridge to Brisbane run...das Hotel zahlt immer für uns Mitarbeiter

Um aber zurück zum Thema zu kommen: Anja ist in Autralien, wie kraaaaaaaaaasssssss!!! Die erste die es geschafft hat mich zu besuche, yay!

A Wedding

Kunden von Ryan haben sich neulich das Ja Wort gegeben. Das war meine erste Hochzeit so weit ich mich erinnern kann, glaube ich? Wir sind mittlerweile "family friends" und die sind so herzlich zu mir/uns....wirklich impressive. Auch zur hen's night war ich eingeladen obwohl ich sie nur einmal richtig getroffen habe aber die wollten mich unbedingt dabei haben und ich bin froh, dass ich gegangen bin. Wieder ein paar neue Leute kennengelernt. Diese zwei Nächte waren supi fun!


mit diesen Schuhen war ich fast so groß wie Ryan. Aber als es am Schluss auf den dancefloor ging, hab ich sie doch am Rande stehen lassen :)

I broke the 100 barrier....

it's not long until I come. I know it already that the time will fly by soo quickly. Has been already, it's middle of August and we finishing our 4th week of the semester. No excuse anymore for me that we only started :) DOOO We only have 15 weeks of lectures, one week swat vac and 2 weeks exams and then it's home time for Anna but before I can't wait for the summer here again before I come into cold Good Old...*bibber*

Wii fit....it's quite hard, especially all the balance stuff. But it's super fun, loved it!

AFL

my first time in a Australian stadium, fairly late considering that Australia is famous for its huuuge passion for sports, culture...not really, sports...YES!

An dem einen Samstag hat Ryan einen Anruf bekommen um 4 Uhr nachmittags und Tickets für das AFL (Australian Football League) Spiel um 6 bekommen. Da ich das noch nie live miterlebt habe im Stadium haben wir doch gleich mal zugesagt. Die Tickets waren für den Priority Cricket Club und wir mussten uns dementsprechend auch schick anziehen.

Es hat sich herausgestellt, dass wir in der ERSTEN Reihe saßen, das war sooo nahe dran, unglaublich... die Stimmung war mega krass und ich fang auch so langsam an die Regeln zu verstehen. Es gibt hier nämlich einige Variationen, die man NIE verwechseln darf weil sie total verschiedene Sportarten sind, vonwegen *pf* AFL und Rugby League und Rugby Union. Ich weiß nur, dass AFL in einem besonderen ovalen Stadium ist :)

Danach durfte man ins Stadium, ich hab noch nie soooo viele footballs durch die Luft fliegen sehen, the kids went just nuts....

Just a few comments on that photo:

• I love going to gym and finishing it up with a nice hot sauna
• I made the chefs at my work laugh after they asked me to show where to apply cooling spray and I only stood there with opened hands and not saying a word hoping I would just get the can handed over without any more questions.....not....details were requested- DOOO

how everything began

The other weekend, Michelle from Cairns was down here in Brissi. For those who don't remember, so for probably all of you ;) she was the first social contact I made when I first came to Oz in August 2005. Through I slipped into the whole Volleyball scene and made heaps and heaps of friends up in tropical Queensland. We just chilled, went shopping and indulged with some chips, crackers, cheese and wine. Was really good to see her since I don't make it up to Cairns very often, unfortunately :(

22 am 22ten

My actual birthday was not a big deal because I worked a morning shift and went to uni after. BUT at night, Ryan and me we went to a restaurant that only sells desserts, yummy aaaaas :-P I had dumplings made of a doughnut-like dough, filled with melt white chocolate and berries, covered in table sugar, served with a hot chocolate sauce to pour and finished with chocolate ice cream surrounded by berry compot. (I am good in presenting meals, always have to present our specials of the night to the guests...it's all about making it sound nice even if it's only seems to be a fish with potato and sauce..haha) Oh my God, that was so god. Didnt have dinner that night cos the dessert was expensive already and I wouldnt have been able to concentrate on savoury knowing that THAT was coming :) So we skipped it. I should have taken a photo, it looked just beautiful with the super fancy decoration and stuff.

The following saturday I had my actual party. We had Australia's biggest Raclette, which must be true indeed since Ryan and my friend Martha are very likely the only owner of that funny european thing nobody can pronounce properly, they say it with that big american aRRRR.

Sara, her sister Hayley and me chopped and prepared like worldchampions (such a german expression...wie die weltmeister....egal)

When everybody was there, I gave everybody one "Pfännchen" / pan (nearly worked out with two raclettes and 20 ish people) and gave a demonstration (felt like the chefs on TV) Initially they were bit hesitant but in the end the spot around the table was worth gold.

I made it like a snack thing so that you dont sit down but grap stuff from all the table and walk around.


So much food and so much got eaten though AND so many satisfied faces and hands resting on full bellies.


Then the lights got switched off and they surprised me with a cake, Wunderkerzen und a Happy birthday, very nice =)



Once the food settled, the jelly shots came out. I had 5 or 6 because everybody wanted to have one with me and I felt good, not bad at all. Must have been all the food, soaking up the alcohol.

Few drinks later, we got a cab and headed towards the city. I got a real fancy free cocktail in one of the bars, free drinks from my friends...I think you get the picture, I was provided with enough booze and yet I wasnt overly drunk at all. Everybody tried hard cos they never see me drunk, well I am not super drunk, and wanted me loose but I stayed under control- hehe....

Sissy, she is actually going out with Marc ( on the pic below with the black hair) who is from Austria and she herself lived in Heidelberg when she was a teenager so she speaks German fluently as well but I never realised until I got a birthday card in German, what???? We never do speak German though, would be kinda weird. Nevertheless it's still nice to hv somebody with a little German backround. They are both going to Austria and Deutschland over X-mas so we might catch up

We danced and partied till half past four. Pretty good effort considering we started at six. It was so much fun, such a good night!
The next morning I woke up and fet superbe...maybe I am not getting old yet ;) But I also forced myself to drink two pints of water and took some vitamin C. Yeah but very surprised, I do not get hangovers, yay. Was quite handy cos there was a fair bit to clean up.
