YEAH, Katie and me got a sponsorship from Adidas for the next season (Oktober 2009- April 2010). Ryan got it as well! They were willing to sponsor 2 men's and 2 women's team and one of the girls organised it so she obviously got it and then they had to choose the 2nd team and I kinda thought they wouldnt give it to us cos I cant commit to all the training sessions atm (at the moment :) abbreviations are the go and the Aussies shorten EVERYTHING) due to work obligations and I am going home for 2 months again pretty much at the peak of season but I tried to book my flights around it so I dont miss too much and I think my coach kinda understands the situaion (or maybe not-haha) but since Katie and I were number 1 team of Queensland he couldnt really get around us, SCORE. Sandogs and Sandivas click it
I think we are getting a few pairs of really expensive sunglasses, ohoh, means i gotta take care of them. The whole squad is sponsored by another company which also produces sunnies so I have soooooooooooooo many sunglasses, thats not even funny. It is funny thinking back to Germany when I played with Co and I struggled to have one pair always with me cos I wouldnt wanna spend much money and I am quite talented in forgetting them, sit on them or do other demolishing things to them. YAY im stoked. We getting new gear this season as well. Keep u posted and take photos of everything.
I might even be allowed to play Nationaltour this season, that was always my dream, cos that would just be amazing ;) Last year there was only one national event, the Australian Championships, that was when Katie and me did really well against a pretty good team and only jsut lost in 3 sets and where Katie smashed her thumb in the middle of the second set, not sure if u remember, I did write about it cos it was so exciting with all the people watching and the commentator and stuff. Well, at least for me who is used to playing ebf tour in germany. So after that we were out cos Katie had a seriuos thumb injury so we missed ou on the finals :( but still got voted number one team and we won the most events, too, hehe!
Because due to the financial crisis and the fact, Aussies arent that interested in beachvolleyball FOR SOME WEIRD REASON??? the weather doesnt really suit, u dont have the facilities??? uhm...think again, haha! Well as Germany loves its soccers and throws the money after the players there, its the same here with Rugby and AFL and Cricket, why why why, Cricket is sooooooo numbingly boring, oh well. The point was, that there was no money and no sponsors for the Nationaltour so hopefully there will be something this year. Chances are I am away for some of them but thats ok. Alright enough of volleyball but I am motivated so that might get me through the 4:45 am alarm and temperatures of 10-15° atm....I have to admit, I do hate my life in these few minutes when the alarm goes off but once I am in the sand it's fine and once spring is coming its warm and then it will be awesome to train into the raising sun. Ok enough for now.
